BPYC HONORS THE PASSING OF RET. COMMODORE JAMES A. BUNTING 1981-1982

The Breezy Point Yacht Club Honors the memory, life and legacy of Ret. Commodore James A. Bunting. Commodore Bunting passed on January 15, 2015. He was one of the original 11 members of the BPYC. His energy , dedication to community and integrity, helped  layer the foundation for the oldest predominately African American Yacht Club on Long Island. Commodore James Bunting will be remembered for his commitment to community and family, service and leadership. He was just a great person, and we were honored to call him colleague; many of us privileged to call him friend. Today, we remember his courage, his vision, his smile, his  personality, his gracious being and his strong commitment to the BPYC.  We hope that it is a comfort to his daughter, La Verne Jones and family , that we mourn their loss and pray for them – but feel very strengthened because of the blessing of James’ life to us.
